Gentle Myofascial
Release
Bowen Therapy is a soft tissue remedial technique created by Tom Bowen from Australia. This therapy involves gentle rolling movements across certain points of the body, stimulating the body's innate ability to rebalance and heal. Unlike massage it does not involve continuous touch. Bowen moves are performed on skin or over light clothing and there is no heavy pressure or manipulation involved. Since it is a gentle therapy, it is suitable and safe for anyone: newborns, children, pregnant women, professional athletes and the elderly.

What to expect at your Bowen session...
Bowen Therapy is primarily performed on a therapy couch. It can also be performed with the client being seated if required. It is best to wear light and loose clothing such as a T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms to your appointment, as Bowen moves are performed over light clothing or skin. Jeans or heavy clothing are not advised. There are frequent short breaks where the therapist leaves the room for a few minutes to allow your body the opportunity to respond and initiate the healing process.
Your first Bowen treatment will last approximately 60 mins as the therapist will discuss the nature of the current issue and take a full medical history. Subsequent sessions will be approximately 30-45 minutes dependent on the client's individual needs.
